Household Hazardous Waste Round Up

The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Round Up takes place each Spring and Fall.

The Fall 2018 HHW Round-Up is now over. The date for the Spring 2019 HHW Round-Up will be advertised in early 2019.

During Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up, you can bring all your unwanted computers, printers, TVs, leftover paint and containers, and any other household hazardous waste to the Recycle Centre (5707 - 51 St.) for free and safe disposal. We also collect e-waste, cell phones and rechargeable batteries during the round up!

Hours of operation for the recycling centre:

  • Monday to Friday from 8 am until 8 pm
  • Saturday, Sunday, and Holiday Monday from 9 am until 6 pm

Check around your house for hazardous product symbols. Here are some household hazardous wastes that need special disposal:

  • antifreeze
  • solvents
  • ant & weed killers
  • paint & paint thinner
  • brake fluid
  • batteries
  • glues
  • cements


The Round Up is for residential use only. Hazardous waste from a commercial business will not be accepted. Used oil, filters and containers are also accepted at the Wetaskiwin Recycling Centre. Propane tanks are accepted at service stations that provide propane tank refills. For more information please phone 780.361.4427.
