Schools & Education

Preschool

Wetaskiwin is home to a variety of preschool programs and support services such as:

Public Schools

The Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools (public school system) is dedicated to improving the academic success of all students. The combined efforts of teachers and staff ensure that students are inspired to become the best they can be — both in the classroom and in life. The WRPS system has seventeen schools (including a French Immersion Program and a year-round program), two off-campus programs, and an early education and family wellness centre. All schools feature programming to suit various interests and learning styles by offering courses that inspire and challenge students to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Private/Separate Schools

Sacred Heart School (separate school system) is part of the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Schools system — a medium-sized, urban/rural division comprised of more than 3,700 students in 10 schools located in Beaumont, Drayton Valley, Leduc, Lacombe, Ponoka, and Wetaskiwin.

After School

Are you a working parent and require quality child care for after school? The Wetaskiwin BGC offers a safe, supportive place for children/youth ages 6 to 12 years in a licensed out-of-school care program.

Post-Secondary Education

Wetaskiwin is home to the largest NorQuest College campus outside of Edmonton.
