The Wetaskiwin Horticulture Society is a group of local gardeners who meet once a month to hear from speakers, hold plant/seed exchanges, and share helpful tips and tricks with one another! Make sure to check out their Annual Flower and Garden show, held every July.

Grow Together in our Community Gardens
Our community gardens are shared spaces where neighbours become co-creators. Whether you plant veggies, flowers, or friendships, these gardens offer a chance to connect, cultivate, and watch something wonderful grow right here in Wetaskiwin. 🌱
Choose from one of two locations:
- Montgomery Park (30 plots)
- 47 Street & 56 Ave (15 plots)
How It Works:
- Register online beginning on April 1 for a plot. Plots are limited to one per person.
- Pay $50 deposit at the time of registration.
- You'll receive an email confirmation with your assigned plot number and a map of the gardens.
- Gardens will be open and ready for planting beginning on the May long weekend.
- Tend to your garden throughout the entire season, keeping it weed-free and within your assigned plot lines.
- At the end of the growing season, as long as your plot is cleaned out, you'll automatically be refunded $30.
Volunteer
Adopt a Bed. Grow the Beauty.
Step into the soil and make your mark! Volunteers can adopt a shrub bed or planter and care for it throughout the season. It’s a simple, hands-on way to brighten our city, nurture nature, and show community pride—one bloom at a time. 🌼
The goal of this program is to create opportunities for Wetaskiwinites to feel connected to their public green spaces and to have a positive environmental impact. You'll help keep our green spaces vibrant, healthy places for generations to come. This program will also give you the opportunity to develop your gardening skills and connect with your community.
We are excited to have you join our team and want to thank you in advance for the time and effort dedicated to supporting Wetaskiwin’s parks and green spaces!
