The Wetaskiwin Ashoro Friendship Park was created in honour of the decades-long relationship with our sister city of Ashoro, Japan. Inspired by Japanese design, the park is nestled in a residential area, providing a relaxing atmosphere to all who visit.

By-the-Lake Park is a superb day-use facility featuring a 17-acre constructed lake surrounded by a 2.5 km paved trail for all to enjoy. A large picnic area, playground, and public washrooms make this an ideal spot to spend some time amongst the trees. 

Have a dog? The Bark Park (off-leash dog park) is located on the north side of By-the-Lake Park and can be accessed from the trail system or via its own parking lot.

Featuring a recently-constructed community amphitheatre, Diamond Jubilee Park provides a scenic stop on your way to Wetaskiwin's historic downtown core. Paved trails guide you around this gorgeous green-space, and connect at the park's center where our cenotaph (a memorial to Fallen Comrades in the Canadian Forces) proudly stands.

Home to Wetaskiwin's Edible Urban Forest, this park is home to 41 fruit-bearing trees and shrubs. This tasty array of plants includes four Goodland eating apples, four Pembina eating plum, six Combination eating pear, and two Native raspberry.

While this park is located within the County of Wetaskiwin, it is certainly well utilized by Wetaskiwin residents! Featuring a number of trails, a disc golf course, a children's playground, and a covered picnic area, you'll often find it humming with activity!
