Deputy Mayor White extends condolences to Tumbler Ridge community

On behalf of City of Wetaskiwin Council, staff, and residents, we extend our deepest 
condolences to the community of Tumbler Ridge following the tragic, senseless act of 
violence on February 10, 2026.

We are heartbroken by the devastating loss of life, including students and educators, 
and the profound trauma inflicted upon your tight-knit community. No community 
should have to endure such an event, and we stand with you in solidarity and grief.

Please let us know if we can help with any kind of support or donations needed to help 
your community through this difficult time. As a sign of our profound sadness and 
respect, the City has joined many across the country in lowering its flags to half-mast.

To the people of Tumbler Ridge: You are not walking through this difficult time alone. 
We stand alongside you, offering our support and strength.
