City crews have been working over the past several weeks to remove trees from City Hall grounds as part of the City's routine tree maintenance and Urban Forest Sustainability Policy. 

Residents who would like some of the wood are welcome to pick it up on the south side of City Hall. For everyone's safety, please do not enter the work area while crews are still on site.

Committee of the Whole and the Regular City Council meetings will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Wetaskiwin City Hall at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. 

The Council Highlights from the July 28 Committee of the Whole and Regular City Council meetings are now available. 

Various City Facilities will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026, for Heritage Day. Garbage and organics pickup will continue as normally scheduled; if your regular pickup day is Monday, your waste will be collected on Wednesday. Please place your cart(s) at the curb by 7 a.m. 

Council will hold a Public Hearing on August 11 at 4 p.m. in Council Chambers to hear community feedback on the proposed Evergreen Area Structure Plan bylaws. 

We are experiencing technical difficulties with the livestream audio for the July 28 Regular Council Meeting. A recording of the meeting will be uploaded to the City's official YouTube channel.

Wetaskiwin's Skatepark (located on the corner of 50 Avenue and 47 Street) has several exciting new features, added as part of the City's Reimagining Wetaskiwin Play Spaces Initiative. These pieces were chosen based on community feedback that the Skatepark was too difficult for beginners.
