More to enjoy at Wetaskiwin's Skatepark!
Wetaskiwin's Skatepark (located on the corner of 50 Avenue and 47 Street) has several exciting new features, added as part of the City's Reimagining Wetaskiwin Play Spaces Initiative. These pieces were chosen based on community feedback that the Skatepark was too difficult for beginners.
Here's what's new:
- The Sofa is a fun, beginner-friendly feature that's perfect for building confidence, practicing tricks, or simply taking a break between runs.
- The Old Skool Bench is a versatile feature that can be ridden from multiple angles while also serving as a place to sit, relax, and hang out with friends between sessions.
- The Arc Rail introduces smooth curves that encourage creative lines and a fresh challenge for riders looking to expand their skills.
- The Old Skool Rail is a classic skatepark staple, ideal for practicing grinds, slides, and technical tricks.
- The Y Rail opens up multiple approach options, giving riders the freedom to link together unique lines and push their creativity.
These additions were selected to make the skatepark more dynamic and welcoming for everyone, from beginners learning the fundamentals to experienced riders looking for something new to conquer.
Whether you're dropping in for the first time or you've been riding for years, there's never been a better time to check out the Wetaskiwin Skatepark. Grab your board, scooter, BMX, or inline skates and experience the new features for yourself!
