Residential Development Incentive
City Council voted to expand the City’s highly successful Residential Development Incentive Program during their March 10 Regular Council Meeting.
Council’s recent expansion of the program comes in response to inquiries from developers interested in the
program, as the city’s population continues to increase. The new injection of $200,000 from the
Stabilization Reserve into the program aims to incentivize the construction of up to 20 new homes by the
end of 2027.
Home builders — whether private individuals, contractors, or developers — may apply by July 31, 2026, for
a $10,000 incentive for each low to medium-density home constructed by December 31, 2027. Since Council approved the incentive in April 2025, $140,000 invested in the program has resulted in the development of 14 new homes with a combined value of $2,175,000.
The Residential Development Incentive Policy also received an update to provide more clarity about the
eligibility requirements for those interested in the program, while promoting the timely completion of
incentivized homes.
