Delegation: BRAIN Conference
Council received a presentation from representatives from the Battle River Arts Innovation and Neuroscience (BRAIN) Conference to share information about the upcoming conference and sponsorship opportunities.
Delegation: Q1 2026/27 Community Policing Report
Staff Sergeant Humbke presented Council with the Q1 2026/27 Community Policing Report, which covers the Wetaskiwin-Camrose RCMP's community engagement efforts, crime trends, and the Crime Severity Index from April 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026.
Council received a presentation on Wetaskiwin's Community Safety & Well-Being Strategy, which provided an update on the Community Safety & Well-Being Committee's governing structure, their approach, progress to date, and upcoming events and initiatives.
Agenda Review allows Council to review, ask questions, and finalize agenda items for the upcoming Regular City Council and Committee of the Whole meetings.
The Council Action Task Summary provides an overview of ongoing and recently completed actions Council directed Administration to complete at previous Council Meetings.
The City Manager Report is an ongoing monthly opportunity to update Council and the community on City operations and public events.
The Council Committee Reports and Attendance Report updates the community on the work that Council does outside of Regular Council Meetings.
Regular Council Meeting
Council approved the revised Snow and Ice Control Policy CO-056, which was updated to include a formal Snow Route and On-Street Parking Restriction Program, which designates specific roadways where parking restrictions will apply during snow and ice control operations to help improve winter maintenance activities, such as snow plowing.
Council approved the first reading of Bylaw 2115-26 to amend Land Use Bylaw 1804-13 to add Health Service to M2 Heavy Industrial district. The application was submitted in recognition that the applicant is currently operating an existing Health Service use on a site located in the M2 district.
A public hearing for Council to hear feedback on Bylaw 2115-26 is scheduled for October 13, 2026, at 4 p.m.
