Manluk Spray Park and Playground Report The Spray Park Committee presented a report on the construction of the Manluk Spray Park, which will officially open on July 1, with the ribbon-cutting and celebration taking place from 2 to 4 p.m. Council also directed administration to bring back a final report on the project by the end of the third quarter.

Legal Update – CO-018 Council Social Media Policy Following a policy review and amendments to the Municipal Government Act under Bill 50, legal counsel confirmed that the Council Social Media Policy—adopted by resolution—is considered repealed pursuant to section 145(10) of the Municipal Government Act.

Monthly City Manager Report to Council and the Community The City Manager Report is an ongoing monthly opportunity to update Council and the community on City operations and public events. The monthly report now includes a more robust process for reporting on operating and capital projects.

Boys and Girls Club Wetaskiwin Club Day Flag Raising Request 2026 The Boys and Girls Club (BGC) Wetaskiwin submitted a request to raise the BCG flag at Wetaskiwin City Hall on or before Friday, June 5, 2026 in recognition of BGC Club Day, which celebrates the impact of BGC Wetaskiwin and BGC Clubs across the country.
2025/26 Regular City Council Meeting Schedule Update
During the October 27, 2025, Organizational Meeting, Council approved a motion to hold Regular Council Meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. An amendment was required by Council to correct an error in scheduling for the Council meetings in September 2026, which will now take place on September 8 and 22 instead of September 15 and 29 as previously scheduled.
2026 Fleet Capital Replacement – Phase 1
Phase 1 of the 2026 Fleet Replacement program launches a lifecycle‑based approach to addressing the City’s aging fleet, which has an average age exceeding 15 years and poses significant risk to increased maintenance and downtime. Council approved $695,940 to support the program which will right‑size equipment and vehicle units—resulting in a net reduction of five vehicles and a reduction of capital costs, and improved efficiency. This program is being fully funded through the Fleet Reserve in accordance with City policy.
Bylaw 2106-26 Amending Land Use Bylaw 1804-03 with Minor Amendments
Council approved Bylaw 2106-26 as amended, which amends the Land Use Bylaw to allow buildings to be relocated from one site onto another site within the City, updates appeal timelines to align with the Municipal Government Act, and consolidates development security provisions from Safety Codes Policy CO-026.
