Mayor’s Proclamations
Per Proclamation Policy CO-021, the Mayor grants proclamations declaring special days, weeks, or months for community-based campaigns or programs requested by locally represented organizations. Proclamations support the community through educational and awareness programs, charitable fundraising, or similar activities.
Approval of proclamation requests is at the Mayor's discretion, meaning not all proclamations may be approved.
Proclamation requests should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- The sponsoring agency is a charitable or not-for-profit organization.
- The cause is for the benefit and/or interest of the majority of the citizens of Wetaskiwin.
- The cause is an initiative of the City of Wetaskiwin.
- The proclamation is part of a public awareness campaign.
- The cause is an arts and culture celebration.
- The proclamation would recognize special honours for an organization.

Proclamation requests must:
- Include background information about the cause or event being proclaimed.
- Be submitted at least four weeks before the date that the proclamation is required.
