The City of Wetaskiwin’s Policing Committee is an important link between our community, the City, and the Wetaskiwin RCMP. The committee helps ensure residents’ voices, concerns, and priorities are heard while supporting transparency, accountability, and strong community partnerships.
City Council passed the Policing Committee Bylaw, establishing a committee that will act as a liaison between Council, the RCMP Detachment, the Community & Protective Services Division of the City, and the citizens of Wetaskiwin to foster responsible community actions towards the creation of a safe, secure and accountable community.
The committee is made up of five members, including one member of City Council, who will work collaboratively with the RCMP and municipal leadership to support local policing priorities.
The Policing Committee’s priorities include: Community Engagement, Community Safety, Crime Reduction, and Employee Wellness.
