Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for planning, operating, and maintaining essential municipal infrastructure and services that support daily life in Wetaskiwin. Our team works behind the scenes and on the front lines to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of services residents depend on year-round.

Public Works crews maintain and operate a wide range of assets, including roads and trails, stormwater systems, cemeteries, parks, and green spaces. The department is also responsible for seasonal services such as snow and ice control, street sweeping, and infrastructure repairs.

Public Works supports infrastructure planning, asset management, and capital projects to ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of the City’s systems. Through these efforts, the department plays a key role in protecting public safety, enhancing community spaces, and maintaining the quality of life for residents and visitors.
