Display of Flags

The City of Wetaskiwin displays flags at City facilities and on City property, with the exception of RCMP headquarters. Council's Display of Flags Policy provides clarity and direction on the use of the City's flagpoles and display of flags.

Flags hold symbolic importance in honouring communities, nations, and individuals, demonstrating unity, respect, and collective grief.

General Flag Protocols

The City of Wetaskiwin follows the flag protocols as outlined in the policy, which dictates which flags are flown on City property depending on the number of flag poles available. The order is as follows:

  • Three flagpoles: The National Flag of Canada, Provincial Flag of Alberta, and City of Wetaskiwin Municipal Flag
